My latest single, “Insane” is a vulnerable song that came at a time of a thousands highs and a whirlwind of chaos. This song was released on October 3, 2018. I wrote this song one night sitting by my piano. All of my emotions rose to the surface. I had just recently gotten engaged, and knew my whole world was about to change. My fiancé and I were talking about our dreams, future, and wondering where our lives would lead. It was a peculiar feeling to know everything and nothing all at once. I wrote the opening line: Two silhouettes, making bets on the color of the sky. Love’s a roar, echoing from the mountains high.” The color of the sky changes, just like how I felt our lives did. Slowly, but then all at once. I wanted to portray love in it’s most pure form in this song. I believe love is chaos and safety, both at once. I wrote this song about being young and believing that the world is at your feet. “I don’t dance but, he makes me feel like I do.” This line was the epitome of my relationship. I had found someone who made my dreams move in ways I never thought possible, and believed in me when I doubted. As I reflected on our years of dating, I loved the chase. “I’m like a runaway train, calling your name, I like it that way.” I had to add this because to me, anything worth keeping has to be fought for. This song was real, raw, fun, and something I hoped people could dance to. Enjoy the ride, let your love be chaos, and love it.
